The Art of Human Relationship

Relation, stems from relate. May be quite obvious to some. Humans, what do they do all the time besides eating? ; )
From what I see, we sure like to talk. Relate. Interact. We love to share. And if we value sharing so much, why is there still so many out there having a hard time building an effective sharing relationship?

Marriage! Men! Women! I hear all these cries in vain! We, as adults, need counselling to sort out a relationship gone wrong! What happened here?

Through observation on myself and those around me, The Art of Human Relationship is really very simply, The Art of Communication.

The First Key thing is, Be Wary, of our natural mistakes of emphasizing the key importance of 'How To' rather than Actual Real Communication. Kinda like realising the intention behind it.

If you've heard of the phrase, 'You don't need a great list of vocab to communicate effectively', well, then you would be one of the lucky ones, grasping the core purpose of communication. A top copywriter I know, once said to me, the best ads are not written with bombastic words. The best ads are written with the simplest English for the layman to understand.

Whats the use of learning a new word everyday, if I don't use it effectively across? Does saying a sentence to someone guarantees it was a successful sharing? We dont need a beautiful voice to communicate well. Nor a loud tone, nor perfect tense, a knowledgable mind nor a good topic at hand. Nor be physically intact to say the least!

The Second Key is the word effectively. Well, it means, relate in anyway, in any direction BUT As Long As The Others Get it.

Why I had decided to write this, is because the effects of non-effective communication can begin a harmful cycle of things. Eg, a broken relationship or marriage, can cause a physcological damage to a child, if not on themselves. A misunderstood friend can feel depress. A lost soul can be left behind. A never resolved issue (no matter how petty) can cause a traumatic exprerience for someone I care about, etc.

So what I realised is, no matter how I do it, I've gotta do it effectively. Otherwise it would not just frustrate others, have others misunderstand me, waste everyone else's time or have me loose my audience. It could cause a negative event around me, Caused By Me!

With this, I make my peace, to those who don't try hard enough. And also to whom I have judged in not trying hard enough. And thanks and respect to those who has the courage to keep taking the ownership to it.

With just one effort, the world may turn out surprisingly better. I mean the world we all live in.

Life, Paint and Passion @ Art Therapy

During the end of December, I recalled how fearful I was to embrace what This new year will mean to me. Like as if predetermined, I know its no doubt a year for me towards the unknown. No matter how I go in circles contemplating on life, lets face it, it really has no limits. In what will become of.

When I first heard of art therapy, it was from browsing this book called Point Zero, Creativity Without Limits by Michele Cassou. Here it is, a lady who listens to her soul in self expression and made a career out of it. Life without imagination would not be colorful. Predictability would make us numb. The mind needs to forsee for some reason, but the soul knows better always. Otherwise life would seem meaningless.

What is life without passion? Passion, to breathe, to want to be alive, to want to feed our souls, to want to see whats in the world, to want to just be.

I love my world because I paint her with unlimited everchanging rainbow of colors and form. Like being reborn everyday, everything is a new. The clouds today will never be the same in any other day in history. They will never float or flutter about like this very second. Nor make faces at me as their mood changes with the wind. Or travel miles perhaps from the Indian Ocean to say hi.

Skies. My other favourite! The sky above you is above me. If you were in heaven, so will I be. If you were in suffering, so will I be.

There's no doubt a synergy of happenings all around us are in constant change. There's miracle and growth in everything. In every second, there's a new heart that is reborn everyday.

There's life, paint and passion. Yes God, what else do I need?

Underwater Pleasure

What a bubbling time I had at the pool. Ah my fav past time under the sunny rays in spore. And i really wanna try to write it out this time, why its such a pleasure to be underwater..

Have you ever gone on eye level with the water level? Silky patterns appear right underneath the surface of the water. The journey begins the moment those glowing bright blue sky color gels in movement and flow with millions of shiny white crystals. I see heaven!

First, lets dance like a butterfly! For best effect as always, at the deepest spot. Moving to feel my body is like being in touch with my soul. I hear nothing but the sound of my breath and the bubbly air I blow.

Sometimes, I hear my mind go on and on. Or sometimes just being in observation — of the bird, the zooming aircrafts, the palm trees, the children playing without fear. The water runs thru my fingers, and my senses starts to perk.

Some games I play — I try to swim straight eyes closed or discipline my thoughts. I try counting every stroke per lap. So far, I still haven't managed to count the similar number of strokes in different laps though in same speed and style! Today, it ranged from 39 to 69!

And then there's the fun part. Being in meditation and affirmation in my love for what I'm gifted to do. I get to visually picture what I'm doing. Usually, I'm on my beach, in my treehouse, overlooking an awesome view, and there i am, if not basking in the sun on the white virgin sand, I'd be painting, with my heart and soul.

I am aware that time stands still...
and thats when peace comes...
along with joy.

One moment in time. And its complete.

My after forty face felt far more comfortable than anything I lived with previously. Self-confidence was a powerful beauty- potion; I looked better because I felt better. Failure and grief as well as success and love had served me well. Finally, I was tapping into that most hard-won of youth dews: wisdom.

Gandalf's wisdom @ I WILL SURRENDER

After months or years (subconcious mind) asking my career question, what am i destined to do? back and forth in countless vicious cycle, I decided to truly deal with it.

ALRIGHT GOD! OK OK! I WILL SURRENDER!.. I will surrender to be the being i was born to be. And what would that be? well, i dunno, and I SURRENDER! YOU HEAR ME?

...hushhh, hmm. lets be quiet here. God only speaks to those who are all ears! and thats what i shall be doing untill i get a clear clear answer.

but seriously, It IS all an act of surrender. with the capital 'S'. My first time realising this word, was a year back. In the awesome book, The Eight Human Talent by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. It was my first insight into the power of acceptance and surrender. with that, i proceeded to search for a higher truth. Who am I the human, yearning to surrender to? Sunday services at a cosy church did propel me fwd with that question — though with no defnite answer. I find it hard to hear faith and believe it to be the truth. Perhaps bible study is all i need?!? Well i'm in luck, my spiritual best friend seems to have the right books at the right time. I will then be all ready to soak up the Course of Miracles after my current book, Power vs Force.

Just now, as i sat by the beach soakg up the essence of the twinkling stars from the tiny docked ships, deep within me, i just know, why fret over something i'll never know for sure? CAN I NOT J-U-S-T B-E.

Tom Cruise, in Last Samurai said "A man does his best until his destiny is revealed" . It goes hand in hand with Gandalf's words of wisdom, "All you have to do is to decide what to do with the time that is given to you now."

On this mistfying nite as i listen to the one of the most soothing classical piece ever composed, Canon in D, i surrender to my blissful joy in my 30 years (1 in mummy's womb) of experience of the heavenly touch of angels & miracles that I've seen, heard and touched by, direct or indirectly, and to those whom I've had the blessed chance to be in journey with.

Today, I am blessed to enjoy how fun it was to work on my site, check out the fishshops, having Kian to share my contemplations with and laugh at how silly i can be with life sometimes, great great music from all over the world, my pet fishes, my comfy bed and comforter, all the cats in the world, technology so i can chat with my family, my angel bro, my beautiful sis, simple and lovely mum, and my warrior dad. I'm so blessed to have the experience of love in my life to share that with those around me.

And u know what just came to me? God always told me to never stop creating. for thats my gift. and never stop painting. ; ) i guess God had always been speaking as I reconnect.

What better way to surrender then to gulp down some chilled perrier. Night God. Night to my divine higher being.

Clarke Quay Flea Market @ Raise Fund Day

Sunny Sunday! but oh, my eyes hurt! Not enough sleep from the nite before, rushing to sample and clear my CDs. I've not set up a stall before — couldn't sit still, correcting fengshui flow every 10 min. CDs proved to be a popular buy and the Quay is certainly full of character. In between, Kian drove to get raw milk where we also saw bullfrogs being farmed. Was a great day. Only plan was to help raise fund for David. and the rest just fell into place.

Davids inspiring spirit can be read at site http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/heals/

Thanks to everyone, this was a great experience for me. Like a process of lettin go of my past, as i picked out from my pile of memories on whats useful to keep and what to give away. There was my fav baseball man, keychains from Germany and Paris, Night Safari and sister's California magnets, old souls like Depeche Mode, my white blackeyed fur dog- memory of working with Times, candle sticks - memory of old rented place, jewellery - back all the way to NZ and BOOKS! I'm more selective in reading what to read.
Can spot my things at link below in flea market pic!

Basic Dive Cert in Aur

Aur dive 2001

Muir, out in the middle of nowhere at 4am, as the ferry boat surges through the waves for my destination to Mersing, I wake up to my little naps with sentiments of my Sat experience in Aur.

My right lower gum is still soar from the over gripping of my mouth piece regulator. Another lesson about holding on too tight. We only hurt ourselves.

I guess the main part of solidarity I enjoyed most was my choice to not go for my second Sat dive — I was in two minds at first about wasting my money on awaringly choosing not to take a change for another dive motion experience. And with not much consideration. I am assertive to my decision and have learned a valuable lesson throughout this weekend experience to not trust others in judgment all the time, even if I didn't know more than he or she. Always be cautious but not distrustful totally. Trust, comes from within as I know, and trusting oneself will automatically give myself the empowerment to judge in return, to instinctively know or even psyhicly know what the truth or reality shows.

Cause & effect. I like the book wise words — that I chose this stretch. Wow, profound, precisely why I've never believed in force.

A lot of people dive and seem to have the passion for diving. However, still few shows true sense of appreciation for the underworld life as actions like throwing garbage into the sea reflects.

The Right of Taking is all I've seen. And I detest it. I know this will be my reason to be if I choose not dive again. The clamness of it all cease to exist. Underneath the strong current, the surge pulls. Indeed I struggle to my attempt of being at one. Its nature teaching me her power, and her forces of flow. As we observe the cycle & behaviors of the corals & fishes tells us all. How they are so inter-related & though could be much damaging, still chooses to share her beauty with the ones beyond their territory. Its a neat feeling as well to choose to overcome the ill experience aboard. A big difference when i choose to face it or not at all and life carries on.

It would be an understatement to say that the lodge was incomplete. Rooms were dark & damped & dusty. The perspective somehow changed as Bern and I readapted it. We actually laughed out loud on a simple silly talk on the hole on the ground on how do u actually squat & effect without paper.

Prata the way i like it

Ah, the first crisp fresh air of the good ol' town of Pudu Raya, KL. And when I step out of my bus, a familiar view of the Proton's taxis, non-stop blooming road and dividers - you've gotta know the talk at 5.30am!

As I tilt my head back to stretch my soar neck (not from the bus but late nights at work) I see the signage just above me saying Roti nan, Garlic nan, Butter, Cheese DAN AYAM TANDOORI. I am just happy to be back in a town with such variety.

The warm teh tarik refreshingly different, goes down my throat graciously. Perfect combo, after two deliciously & simply prepared roti ~ my all time favourite masterpiece. Freshly made - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, its inviting look is nothing comparable...savour, yes, savour the moment.
